Jacob Close is a science fiction and fantasy author, currently being held in a secure government location in Midlothian. He is fed twice a day, and requires at least two handlers to safely transport. Employees are advised not to make eye contact.
He holds an MA in History from the University of Edinburgh, where he specialised in the history of science and scientific philosophy. His works included a dissertation on alchemy in the Royal Society of London, explorations on phenomena regarding the black plague, and a project examining the lives of inmates in Victorian mental hospitals.
He also writes prolifically for the arts, particularly theatre. He is the current editor of the review site Edinburgh49, and was shortlisted for the Allen Wright Award for Arts Journalism in 2015.
Outside of work he spends most of his time at the gym, looking at the planets through a telescope, and remembering how cool he was before someone stole his motorcycle.
